Wisdom for the Day - Everyday
Day 200 His Love Woke Me Up | Psalm 90:14
Have you ever considered what truly wakes you up each morning? Beyond alarm clocks and to-do lists lies a profound truth that can transform your daily experience. In this special episode of "Weekends with Lauren," Rick fills in to share a powerful devotional centered on Psalm 90:14.
"Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives." These words from the psalmist offer us a radical perspective shift. Rather than beginning our days with stress, scrolling, or solving problems, we're invited to start with the awareness of God's unfailing love. Rick vulnerably shares how this verse has been working in his own life, acknowledging those mornings when satisfaction feels distant and discouragement feels close.
The heart of this message reminds us that true satisfaction doesn't come from perfect circumstances but from being deeply rooted in God's love from the moment we open our eyes. When we approach our day from this foundation, everything changes – difficulties become more manageable, joys become more meaningful, and even ordinary moments become opportunities for worship. This devotional isn't about adding another task to your morning routine; it's about recognizing the grace that's already present: you're here, God's love is constant, and that's enough to begin with gratitude.
Take a moment today to pause before the rush begins. Let God's love be the first thing that fills your heart, and see how it might transform everything that follows. Subscribe to "Wisdom for the Day" for more daily spiritual refreshment that helps you embrace each day with faith and clarity.

We had an issue getting into the studio this week, so I'll be filling in for Weekends with Lauren. Today is Day 200.
Speaker 1:His love woke me up. From Psalm chapter 90, verse 14. From the New Living Translation Psalm chapter 90, verse 14. From the New Living Translation Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.
Speaker 1:Can I tell you something simple but powerful? If you woke up today, it's because God still has something for you. His love is what woke you up, not the alarm clock, not the to-do list. His love Psalm 9014 has been on my heart lately. Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love. That's a prayer that I need every day Because, if I'm being honest, there are mornings I wake up and I don't feel satisfied. I feel tired or discouraged or behind.
Speaker 1:But this verse reminds me that the satisfaction doesn't come from everything going right. It comes from being deeply rooted in God's love right from the start of the day. His love isn't fragile. It doesn't fade overnight. It's new every morning, and when we start our day with that reminder, everything shifts. The hard stuff becomes more manageable, the good stuff becomes more meaningful and even the ordinary stuff becomes worship. So before you scroll, stress or start solving everything, pause. Let God's love be the first thing that fills your heart today. Ask him to satisfy you in a way that nothing else can. He's ready, you're here, that's grace. Pray with me, father God, thank you for waking me up today. Let your love be the first thing that fills my heart and the last thing I forget. Satisfy me with what only you can give. I want to live today rooted in your joy. Amen.
Speaker 2:Well, that's all for today. Amen. Special intro and outro music by Weston McCurry. You can message me or Rick at renewed mindsetscom slash contact. I'm so glad we had this time together. And don't forget he's not finished writing your story. Come back next time and we'll keep walking it out together here on weekends with Lauren. I love you all so much. Bye.
